Pen Porter Public Relations

I've had some success over the past decade. But it's time to step it up. So Pen Porter is now officially launching. Check out some of my work. These are stories written by Press-Enterprise reporter Sandra Stokley, but she would never have known these stories without my help.

See, this one proves it! I'm anticipating they'll have another story soon in the paper, and on the regular website, as I was given a form with additional questions recently.

I  sent her a press release for  this one too.

Let me get you this kind of coverage for your business or your cause. I am especially successful in getting coverage in the Press-Enterprise, and not just Sandra's blog. But I can get you coverage ANYWHERE if you have a fantastic story to tell.

Here is what I sent Sandra about the pharmacy, along with one of the photos, as I know they'll be using a different one.

NEW PHARMACY FIRST SIGN OF ECONOMIC TURNAROUND

 IN DE ANZA SHOPPING CENTER
(JURUPA VALLEY, Calif.) A new pharmacy has opened in Jurupa Valley in the De Anza Shopping Center. It is the first new business in the retail area along Limonite between Camino Real and Clay Street since the city incorporated, an area that has seen quite a few businesses close in the last two years.
Jurupa Valley HealthMart Pharmacy, 7990 Limonite Avenue, is owned by Ekta Patel and her husband Santosh Patel of Riverside., and her brother Premal Patel, who plans to move to Jurupa Valley soon. The Patels previously worked at nationally-owned pharmacies in other cities before getting into the pharmacy business.
“We offer a quick and helpful service,” Santosh Patel said. “We offer homeopathic medications, many other over-the-counter medications, and most prescription medications.”
To officially welcome the new business to the community, the Jurupa Valley Chamber of Commerce plans to put on a Grand Opening for Jurupa Valley HealthMart  Pharmacy on Saturday, May 25 at 11 a.m.. It will feature a ribbon-cutting and a welcome address by Jurupa Valley Mayor Verne Lauritzen.
Unlike its Jurupa Valley competitiors, Health Mart pharmacies are all independently owned. Although Health Mart offers support to a network of thousands of pharmacies in all 50 of the United States, all owners are free to tailor their business to the needs of their own community.
The Patels saw a great need for a pharmacy like Jurupa Valley HealthMart Pharmacy in Jurupa Valley.
“There was no independently owned pharmacy in Jurupa Valley,” Ekta Patel said. “We wanted to bring this community a new kind of pharmacy.”
Not only was there no independent pharmacy, the closure of the Jurupa Valley Albertson’s grocery store, and its in-store Sav-on Pharmacy had whittled the total number of pharmacies serving Jurupa Valley down to two.  To the Patels, this seemed inadequate for a city of almost 100,000 people.
The Patels also saw a need because Jurupa Valley has several businesses offering attractive living options for senior citizens. The Pacifica and Emeritus senior living communities serve several hundred seniors within  two miles of Jurupa Valley HealthMart Pharmacy, and another 1,200 senior apartments are less than 10 miles away at Country Village.
Jurupa Valley HealthMart Pharmacy offers several services focusing on the needs of seniors.
“We offer home delivery, and we offer medications packaged in bubble packaging,” said Ekta Patel. “These services are convenient for many seniors.”
Bubble packaging places any prescriptions a senior citizen (or younger person) must take into a clear, plastic package segmented into dosages that must be taken at a specific time. If the person takes multiple prescriptions, each segment may have more than one pill.
“It is easier for a caretaker to keep track of their medications this way,” Ekta Patel said.
Jurupa Valley HealthMart Pharmacy is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.  For more information, call (951) 332-2235.

And here is what I sent her about the golf tournament, which was held April 11 and resulted in the P-E blog entry on April 10.

WIN $10,000 WITH A HOLE IN ONE
(JURUPA VALLEY, Calif.) Local golfers will win $10,000 if they shoot a hole-in-one on the eighth hole at the Jurupa Valley Chamber of Commerce’s  annual golf tournament, planned for Thursday, April 11 at Jurupa Hills Country Club, 6161 Moraga Ave., Jurupa Valley.
The $10,000 Hole in One prize is sponsored by Rick Riley, an agent with MGR Real Estate in Colton. Riley, a resident of Jurupa Valley, has been a member of the Jurupa Valley Chamber of Commerce for many years.
“Jurupa Valley became a city just a little under two years ago, but it has had some of the area’s best golf courses and a dynamic business community for much longer,” Riley said. “I want local golfers and business people to come to Jurupa Valley and see what a great city it is, and possibly consider locating their business or home here.”
Entry to the Jurupa Valley Chamber of Commerce golf tournament is $75 per player, or $275 for a foursome.
Tournament registration begins at 7:30 a.m.  April 11. A putting contest begins at 8 a.m. and the tournament itself begins at 9 a.m.
Tournament entry is $75 per player, or $275 for a foursome. Tournament price includes a round of golf, and admission to a hot dog barbecue at the Jurupa Hills clubhouse patio.
To participate, send a check payable to the Jurupa Valley Chamber of Commerce to 7920 Limonite, Suite B, Jurupa Valley, California 92509. For more information contact Rick Riley at (951) 255-3680 or by email atrickriley4RE@gmail.com
Riley specializes in commercial real estate development, construction and sales. He helps clients acquire land, get the necessary government permits for developing land, manage the construction of new commercial buildings, and sell the finished projects.
“I bring my expertise and knowledge to the negotiations that are necessary in all phases of development, “ Riley said. “This is crucial for both buyer and seller.”
Riely started out as a plumber.
While he was still in the plumbing business, Riley began a second career as an industrial developer in 1999. He served as a project manager in the construction of industrial sites in the Inland Empire, and obtained a real estate license to better facilitate sales of the finished projects.
Riley also had begun investing in commercial real estate in 1976.
He can help an expanding, relocating or new business find commercial space in Jurupa Valley and other Inland Empire cities. He also can help homeowners sell or buy a new place to live.
Through his Realtor, MGR Real Estate Services, Riley is a member of several southern California boards of Realtors serving Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Riverside counties. These are Citrus Valley Association of Realtors, Inland Valleys Association of Realtors, East Valley Association of Realtors and Victor Valley Association of Realtors.
Early in his career as a small business owner, Riley joined the Jurupa Valley Chamber of Commerce, and the Mira Loma Chamber of Commerce, which have since merged.
Although Riley moved to Utah for a brief time after selling his plumbing business, he returned to Jurupa Valley in 2007 and rejoined the Chamber in 2008. He currently serves on its Board of Directors.
